Free Advertising In forum store

Hello,

I think we should add an option in the forum store were you can buy free advertising.

There will be a forum for these advertisements, and if you bought a free advertising you will be added to the advertising usergroup.

Only that group can post new threads in the advertising forum.

How does that sound?

Splendid idea; but referencing back to what you told me before about the forum's age group, there may have to be restrictions on what site's can be advertised.

Just like in the site feedback forum how you can post a "Personal Question", thats how you submit a new ad.

A moderator then needs to read the ad, and if it is approved move it to were it will be visible.

I like the idea. But how would it work? Would it have sections, would you be able to write anything, sort of like a userpage?

We will need to approve the ad's before they are posted into public view.

Yes I agree With both Tim and Atrocity, because younger viewers of this site would have access to see ads they are not supposed to or if we have ad offers Either Mods or Admins need to filter through these :)

I think it will be hard work approving a whole site.

But it counts on the size of the site, if it's big, it needs both work and a long time to be reviewed.

But we could try with a requsting form like this:

And if they have content not for children it will not be approven. Like the idea?

I like that, but overall, we were going to check it and if it didn't have content appropriate for children, we wouldn't add it. That would save us some time to ask them. But even if we do put that (they have to say if there website has content not appropriate for children) we will still have to check there site.

Alright, so from what I've gathered, and according to the poll (though there are only four votes) this proposal is line to be approved. I'm all for it, but I will be creating an actual form for the site; we won't use a forum with special privileges out the whazoo. I've got a javascript client we can use to create a professional form template, and the link to activate the form can be sent to the user in question after the purchase has been made through the CPH Store.

This brings us to our second issue with this matter. How much shall the advertising cost the user in terms of CPH coins? I'm thinking a minimum of 700.

Well, that depends on how much advertising.

We could split it up...

As in, if we make it were we have it just in the add forum, then not so much.

But, if we make it as the adds for guests, or on the right side or something... then that could be more.


We could offer a range of costs, and say what they get. So, maybe (this isn't real prices, just to give you a feel)

1 Coin = One add in forum section

5 Coins = One add in forum section, and one add for guests.

50 Coins = One add in forum section, and three adds for guests.

250 Coins = One add in forum section as Special Add (In the forum section, we would edit the topic and make it a Sticky or Announcement [just for the Add forum]) and five adds for guests.


Also, we could divide those into smaller groups...

As in we could have the adds up for length of time... as in: (again not real prices just an example)



1 Week = +5 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait half (1 Week 2 Days) tell they can buy any adds again.


2 Weeks = +10 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (1 Week and 1 Days)


3 Weeks = +15 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (7 Days or 1 week)


1 Months = +30 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (6 Days)


3 Months = +90 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (5 Days)


6 Months = +200 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (4 Days)


12 Months or 1 Year = +500 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (0 Days)


Forever = +1500 coins to normal price /// When time ends wait (X days)

Also, I doubt most kids will have things to advertise, so it will usually be someone older...ish.


Well, i'm trying to get at that maybe we need to lower the price... because if it's an older...ish person, they would almost have to have... around 400 posts, which is 800 coins... maybe not even because I have posted in sections and gotten coins being a Moderator...

Alright, I like your idea TP, but that will take me some time to fully implement. I've modified to the new Merchant's License in the store to allow users to submit "Advertisement Applications" using the ML# they receive in their receipt.

You can now submit applications for advertisements (to be included in the "Sites We Love" directory) by going to Charlie's store and clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.

I'll be working on a new form for the future, to include the pricing and features that TP has offered.
